Luke Mead - Tech Entrepreneur - Non-Executive Director
Luke’s passion for technology began in childhood, long before formal education could catch his interest. While school saw him more often in trouble than engaged, his talent was clear – his Year 4 report even noted, “Luke has outstanding computer skills.”
At 15, he launched a PC repair business alongside a dishwashing job, using a creative (and costly) method to print thousands of promotional leaflets at school. Despite failing his A-Levels (three U grades and an E), his focus was firmly on business, expanding from home PC repairs to IT support for local firms.
In 2010, at just 19, Luke secured a £7,500 loan – under the guise of buying a car ”to start LMS Computer Services Ltd. What began as a small venture grew into a thriving firm with 30 staff, multi-million-pound revenue, and a global client base in IT, cybersecurity, and cloud services.
In 2023, aged 32, he sold LMS as part of a strategic acquisition. Now, he shares his expertise as a non-executive director, investor, and advisor, helping businesses grow. When not supporting clients, he enjoys travelling and time with his young family.
Andy Kitching - Managing Director - Guthrie Douglas
Andy has served as Managing Director of Guthrie Douglas for over 15 years, taking the reins of the family business founded by his father-in-law. What began as a small team in Warwick has, under his leadership, grown into a well-known player in the international construction industry.
Andy has guided Guthrie Douglas into new markets including the Middle East and Australia, building the company’s reputation as a global specialist in technical shading systems and playing a crucial role in some of the world’s most ambitious architectural projects including One Sydney Harbour, The Link (Dubai), and Google’s London Kings Cross HQ.
In September 2025, Andy completed the sale of a majority stake in the business to Draper Inc., a US-based shading manufacturer. With their backing, he is now embarking on the next phase of Guthrie Douglas’ growth story, bringing fresh opportunities for innovation and
expansion.
In his spare time, Andy is a father of three and an Ambassador for Smartphone Free Childhood, a grassroots movement that believes childhood is too short to scroll away.
At Leader Fest 2025, Andy will share insights from his journey – from stewarding a family business to scaling internationally – and reflect on the lessons learned along the way.
