This new Manufacturing Online Group is designed as a confidential, collaborative learning environment for Managing Directors and senior leadership team members navigating the challenges and opportunities within the manufacturing sector.

It is particularly relevant for leaders who:

  • Want space to step away from day-to-day pressures and think strategically

  • Value confidential peer discussion with others facing similar manufacturing challenges

  • Are navigating growth, efficiency, people, supply chain, or operational complexity

  • Are open to sharing experience and learning from other senior leaders

What will be covered?

This group provides a confidential, peer-led forum to explore the real challenges facing manufacturing leaders today.

The session will mirror a typical MD2MD members’ meeting, delivered online, and will include:

  • Welcome and introductions

  • A “What’s going well / What would be even better if” round

  • A split into two smaller facilitated groups, led by Rohit and Andrew

The focus of the discussion will be shaped by the challenges brought into the room by participants. Facilitators will introduce stimulus, challenge assumptions, and encourage practical, experience-led discussion to ensure the session remains relevant and valuable.

These sessions consistently stimulate a wide range of views and ideas, drawing on the collective experience of leaders from across the manufacturing sector.

Suggested areas of discussion may include:

  • Improving operational efficiency and productivity

  • Managing cost pressures and margins

  • Supply chain resilience and risk

  • Workforce challenges, skills gaps, and retention

  • Scaling operations while maintaining quality and consistency

  • Leadership, culture, and performance in manufacturing environments

  • Adapting to change, regulation, or market pressure

This session marks the launch of a new MD2MD Manufacturing group. Subject to engagement, the intention is for the group to continue on a quarterly basis, providing ongoing peer support, challenge, and shared learning for manufacturing leaders.

This group will be facilitated by Rohit Thakral and Andrew Spink.
