MOST business leaders understand that they are paid to make good decisions not just to do or sell things. And their most important decision is where to invest their time. They also recognise that MD2MD membership will enable them to lead their business even more effectively. The most astute come along as a guest, join and realise a return on their wise investment.
Others, often those who actually have most need, don’t join because they are:
- drowning at the moment
- too busy fighting fires
- been let down – again
- busy with a project
So they decide that they don’t have time to attend or join ‘at the moment’.
Instead they decide to focus for now upon
- getting this project complete
- recruiting this person
- getting a little more business in
- sorting out this supplier
- making a bit more money
and say then (tomorrow) they’ll have the time / focus / money to join MD2MD.
The problem is, as we all know, that time never comes and years later they are in largely the same position. “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always got!”
So what’s the answer?
There isn’t one!
Good Managing Directors will, because they are constantly on the look out for opportunities, always have too many things to fit into 31,556,736 seconds they have to invest every year.
We know that as well as fighting today’s crisis, great leaders make the time to prevent tomorrow’s. Great Managing Directors understand the value of being proactive and actively choosing how best to utilise those 31,556,736 seconds.
We, and our members, believe that investing 288,000 of those seconds in working smarter not harder with the support of MD2MD is a wise choice. That’s less than 1% of the year, or being more cautious less than 5% of your working time!
Whether it is with MD2MD or not, surely a business leader should be creating at least that much space to consider the bigger picture, make smarter decisions and develop their own leadership capability.
And if you’re too busy you’ll always be too busy!
But you’re smarter than that so why not try MD2MD?
