Lee Rutter

Lee has played a leading role in two Management Buy-Outs and is now a Director of Volution, a Heating and Ventilation manufacurer employing 800 people at 5 UK sites with brands including Vent-Axia, Manrose and Torin-Sifan.

Having spent 11 years working for GEC Marconi within Microsystems, Lee moved into the Ventilation market when he joined Torin in Swindon as Operations director in 1990 and led his first MBO in 1995 of Torin out of BTR which he then sold onto the Smiths Group, he then co-led the £125m buy out of a group of businesses out of Smiths Group to start Volution.

Thought the period of the MBO the group has been reshaped through acquisitions, disposals, merging businesses and brands, off shore manufacturing and back again, to form a more focused Ventilation group.

The group’s current routes to market include Retail, Catalogue, Wholesale, Distribution, OEM and Export giving a broad understanding of the needs and dynamics of these ever changing markets and with products that need to match the requirements of changing legislation.
