Charles a.k.a. Charlie Wilson is a coach and mentor in teamworking and leadership under pressure. Executives come to him when they want to make conscious improvements to their natural leadership style so that they can perform to their potential when the pressure comes on. He also works with leadership teams to develop the disciplines needed for high performance.
Pressure can come in many forms: the day-to-day demands of modern business; crises and emergencies, which require a different approach. He helps people deal with both.
He has been a successful leader in a wide range of situations and an integral member of a variety of high-performing teams. His first career was in the UK military but have learnt that, although some of the challenges facing military officers are unique to their situation, many of them are similar to the leadership and management issues facing executives in all walks of life. The more senior the level, the more similar those issues become.
His current projects are:
Coaching current business leaders and high-potential candidates.
Researching the effects of group dynamics on how teams learn.
Speaking at leadership events at various locations including Lloyds of London.
Training the trainers of operational planning at a military college.
