Hybrid is now the new normal: there is no going back to how it used to be! That means culture is now more important than ever before. Culture can and should be THE point of differentiation.
The culture cues have changed wholesale: we used to unconsciously tune into cues to understand the prevailing culture – things like conversations after meetings, what people laughed at, and what people said when a leader walked away. Most of those cues no longer exist. There are now a whole new set of cues: Virtual connection brings with it a new set of cues from which people deduce the culture.
Leaders MUST get proactive: Given the new context AND the importance of culture, leaders must focus on the right things to get the culture ‘right’.
