Midlands Leadership has two Managing Director Groups which each meet for 24 hours six times a year at Somerford Hall, near the junction of the M6 and M54 in Staffordshire. Both these Groups have been running successfully for many years and have a stimulating mixture of senior Managers/Directors from large Corporates and Owner/Chief Execs of SMEs. We like to have a charity and a public sector Member in each Group too.
Each meeting starts with a dinner the night before where we catch up with the significant events in each Member’s life since we last met together, business and personal. Many Members choose to stay at Somerford Hall that night. The following day we run a Workshop and a Forum to gather advice on current challenges Members are facing. The Workshop, which is from 8.30 to 12.30, is run by a carefully selected expert on a subject of current interest to Members, who are entitled to bring along a guest without charge. After lunch we ask our Members to tell us about their biggest current challenge and after questioning to dig into the issue, Members offer advice on what they would do in the circumstances.
Colin Perry and Jay Hale, who have more than 30 years of experience of chairing such Groups, act as Co-Chairmen of both Groups. Colin and Jay are experienced business coaches and facilitators, operating Nationally, and many Members take advantage of this and use them in their businesses in some way.
If someone is interested in joining one of our Groups we have a chat with them, face-to-face if possible, and usually invite them along to a meeting as our Guest so they can experience the value and meet the Members. You can find details of forward MLG Meetings here.
