MD2MD golfer Elliot Bradley – Sept 2017 update

Dear friends and supporters at MD2MD,

I hope you are all doing well. As so many of you asked about my golf whilst I was in more regular attendance at the meetings I thought I would ask my father to send this message out on my behalf.

The reason I’ve been around so much less this year is partly down to the fact I went back to finish of my university studies over the winter. Mostly however, this is the first year I’ve managed to earn myself full status on a global golf tour which has had me exempt into every event except the tour championship.

I started the year in good form prepping out in Portugal, peaked by shooting -5 whilst playing alongside Ricardo Santos (who has won on the European tour) to lead the event I was in. Notably it was around Morgado golf course, where the European Tour went in May and my score would have been close to winning at that top level too.

Shortly after that I flew to Morocco to compete in qualifying school at el Jadida, Casablanca. After three rounds on a tough, tight and windy course I finished alone in 24th place comfortably inside the top 50 needed to earn full playing rights for the year.

I then had to miss the first three events of the season due to budgeting issues. Opting to instead play some events grouped closer together. Which took me to Ras al Khaimah, Thailand and South Africa. Then I’m now out in Dubai and then driving down to Abu Dhabi next week.

As it stands there is 4 normal events left this season, plus the tour championships which the top 50 eligible players will play. With one more good or a couple of average results I will be in that top 50. Unfortunately I only have the budget left to play 2 of the 4 events, which as you can imagine limits my chances having already missed 3 events missing another 2 would leave me sat behind most of the others because they’ve had more opportunities. It’s also important to be in that top 50 because it guarantees that I retain my card for next year.

This leaves me needing to raise £2500 in order to be able to play the last couple of events in Jordan and Kuwait to have the chance to make tour champs and keep my tour card. I would love to be able to raise the sponsorship to be able to go. So if you are or know of anybody who would be interested in helping out in return for logos, help with hosting golf days and social media postings etc then I’d love to get in contact.

Kind regards

Elliot Bradley
