Sure, you know your business inside out… but do you know how much it might be worth? Or even how to go about valuing it?  Business valuation is an art, not a science, and this session aims to demystify the techniques buyers and investors use when making an approach. Hosted by corporate finance advisor Initium, this workshop this will offer a beginner’s guide to valuation methods, and explore the many factors that shape and influence the true value of your business, both positively, and negatively!

 

This event is led by Mark Bentley Client Development Director, and co-owner, Initium Corporate Finance.  Mark works closely with clients exploring their succession and exit strategies. Since joining Initium in 2011, he has worked on multiple high-profile transactions in sectors including media, technology and professional services, advising on market messaging and positioning.

What will be covered?

Alongside exploring common valuation methods and how they are used in the world of business sales, we’ll look at the key factors that drive a company’s saleability. Via business sale case studies, you’ll even get a sense of how buyers approach valuing a business. After all, any company is only really worth what someone is prepared to pay for it!

We’ll look fundamental do’s and don’ts when approaching valuation, highlight the importance of keeping a weather eye on business sale activity on your sector, and offer tips on how to design a growth plan that will proactively drive value in your company.  In an open Q&A session (under Chatham House rules!) we can explore topics specific to you and your business.
