Charity Golf Day in aid of Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust

BCMS sponsors of LeaderFest 2023 invite you to attend their charity golf day.
Did you know that every day around 12 young people under 25 in the UK are diagnosed with cancer? That’s why we’re supporting the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, a national charity that takes young people aged 8-24 on sailing and outdoor adventures to inspire them to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond the cancer.
As the Trust told us: “This event will have a huge impact on the Trust and the young lives we support. This summer we are supporting up to 700 young people, but our ambition is to increase this to 1000 young people by 2025. There is a clear need and demand for this growth, but we need help to meet this demand. The funds raised at your Golf Day will have a significant impact on this ambition.”
This is part of BCMS Director Liz Jackson MBE’s 50 for 50 challenge – where she is looking to raise a total of £50,000 for charities in the year she turns 50. Liz is blind – and she’s fundraising via a series of crazily ill-advised activities, including a roller-skating half marathon and abseiling down the UK’s tallest sculpture! And there’s more to come!
Test your golfing skills against BCMS friends, colleagues, partners, Fellows and our wider network – and raise a whole load of money for a very worthwhile cause. It all takes place at the 6,926 yard, 18-hole, par 71 Donnington Valley course near Newbury. Entry costs £450 per team of four, and there will be a range of team and individual prizes, awarded for challenges including Nearest The Pin, Straightest Drive, and best front/back nine.
Breakfast and a two-course lunch is provided, and there’ll be entertainment and a whole host of fun activities for non-golfers, too! Later in the day, there’ll be a charity auction for some amazing prizes, including a day’s charter for a full crew on one of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust’s beautiful blue yachts, either on the Isle of Wight or in Largs, Scotland.
If you are not fielding a full team, the cost for an individual is £112.50 and they will add you to a team on the day.
