These business leader groups normally meet at a comfortable country house conference hotel, well situated 20 minutes East of M1 junction 19 and with Northampton, Kettering, Rugby and Coventry also nearby.
Within an hour are the end of the M11 at Cambridge as well as Bedford, Milton Keynes, Leicester, Peterborough, Corby and Birmingham and Leicester. What happens in a South East Midlands (Northamptonshire) business leaders’ group meeting?
For most meetings, the Sapphire and Mazarine subgroups, those intended for Managing Directors, meet at 5pm and have the peer challenge board discussion over dinner. Many members stay overnight. In the morning they are joined at 8am by a group of Senior Executives from their businesses and from others. After briefly comparing experiences of the current trading environment they spend the morning learning with and from each other through an interactive workshop led by a top professional speaker.
The meeting finishes with lunch enabling them to return to work, or meet staff or customers in the afternoon.
Membership of the two Business Leader / Managing Director groups includes the opportunity to brings a senior business guest to the speaker session of each meeting. This adds depth and variety to the session and enhances the value for each member by providing them with a chance to develop one of their key team or to develop their relationship with a key contact.
